The Story of Apple

Forty years after its creation, Apple has risen to become one of the largest companies in the world. This business behemoth, valued at over $650 billion, seems to have had a charmed existence; however, its success came only after fighting from the brink of failure.

In 1997, Microsoft invested $150 million in their rival, and in doing so, marked to beginning of Apple’s revival. After the investment by Microsoft and the return of Steve Jobs, Apple took the tech world by storm. They released the first iMac, the iBook, the Mac OS X operating system, iPods, and iTunes. All these products came from a company that had very nearly been the victim of a buyout.

So what happened? How did Steve Jobs do it? Well, he knew that business is a game of inches and took advantage of that, building Apple back up one small inch at a time. Jobs knew that there was no way Apple could hope to compete with Microsoft in the PC industry, at least not at the given moment. Because of this, he decided to go in a different direction.

From the materials used, to the styling, to the colors – everything. And because of this, Apple has shown that they are a company that is here to stay.
